What is the best way to buy and import a car from japan to the U.S..?

I live in Texas and want to buy and import a car from japan. where is the best place i can do that. is there any websites that you have used and trust please let me know if you have any experience doing this...

go to nearest/toyota-honda/mazda/ new car dealer/they do it all the time/if its not legal in the usa they will tell you

i'm unaware of how to do it, but PLEASE MAKE SURE that the vehicle meets the standards of american vehicles or you will have bought a car that will just sit in japan

Waste of time unless you have unlimited funds. It will cost at least a couple thousand to transport it and then you have to convert it to meet US emissions standards to actually drive it. By the time you do that, the car you bought isn't even the same car. Unless you want to pay an extra $7-10K AFTER buying the car, importing a car to sit as a lawn ornament is just a waste of time and effort.
