I guess it's just that. If I move to Japan, I'll be taking all my electronics with me. It's a temporary move, of course. It won't be long, but it while be for a short while--longer than a vacation. Will I need an adapter to plug in and recharge my laptop and electronics?
Yes you need to buy a travel adapter kit for use in foreign countries that use a different wall out let and current than we do here in the US. Look here: or any local electronics store.
