hi! im interested in traveling to Taiwan, Hong Kong & Japan for this winter.... could i get some travel agency recommendations? im currently in Toronto right now and am ok with traveling with a group. thanks!!
My very favorite is Apollo Travel out of Chicago. They have customers around the world. They specialize in corporate travel but their leisure department can't be beat - not even by American Express. The toll free number is 800-356-2330 but if you call from Canada, you may have to dial direct at 312-236-7356. They have 24 hour service so if ANYTHING ever goes wrong, you always have access to an experienced agent who can help you on the spot. I was away on business when 911 happened and couldn't get home because all planes were grounded indefinitely. The owners of the agency actually purchased used minivans OVER THE TELEPHONE in several major US cities and had their stranded customers find common meeting points so they could drive home together. Then when everyone got back to Chicago, they resold the vans! That kind of service and quick-thinking has made me a loyal customer forever. Their agents are well-traveled and if one doesn't know something, one of the others will. They have contract rates with many international airlines, so their tickets will be less than the quoted rates. But remember, when traveling internationally - that 24 hour service is a Godsend should you ever need it. Bon voyage!
